Turning 30 was a stressful time for me... I ended up pregnant with my "friend with benefits", which left me in a very difficult situation...
It was not how I imagined my life would go and found myself pressured by the expectations of society, media and of family and friends that it became overwhelming. It was easy to fall into comparison and guilt and not quite know what to do and ultimately feel bad about myself. ππ
Turning thirty was supposed to look like, having the perfect home, my career all figured out with a husband around my arm. We would have a beautiful family and live happily ever after like Disney always said!! π€΄πΏπΈπ»
WRONGβ¦π π½ββοΈ This did not happen for me and honestly it didnβt happen for a lot of my friends either so if you are feeling like you are behind, or things arenβt what they were supposed to by 30 you are NOT alone!
Could there be a more extensive reason why turning 30 is so uncomfortable, a more profound reason than just not living up to all the societal expectations and pressures?
Actually, there is! What? Really, there is?
YES!!!
Itβs called your Saturn Return!πͺπͺπͺ
Let's dive right in: What the HECK is a Saturn Return and what does this have anything to do with being stressed out, overwhelmed and anxious before approaching our thirties?
Well, we can imagine our Saturn Return as our cosmic rite of passage. It is the time in our lives when weβre about 27-31 years old when we start to rethink our relationships, friendships, careers, and our life purpose. It is the time in our lives where we are forced to make big changes that will affect the course of our lives forever.
There are 3 Saturn returns that happen in our lives, when you are about to turn 30, 60 and 90 years old.
In astrology, Saturn is associated with limitations and fears. While it might seem daunting, Saturn brings structure and purpose, reminding us of boundaries, responsibilities, and commitments. It acts as a wake-up call, shaking us from autopilot and guiding us toward growth and self-reflection.
Saturn can bring positive transformations, yet its role is to disrupt our comfort zones. Much like the authority figures in our past, Saturn is there to aid our growth, helping us shed what no longer serves us. It is an opportunity to reflect on past lessons and use them to become the best version of ourselves.
Reflecting on my own Saturn Return, it was a seismic shift. Emerging from a period of low self-worth, I found myself navigating single motherhood. The transformation was beyond my imagination, shaking the foundations of my twenties spent numbing pain in bars.
If you find yourself in the mist of Saturn Return, feeling lost and anxious, know that you're not alone. Let this be a guiding light, leading you towards a life of authenticity and self-awareness. Embrace the tough emotions; they are stepping stones to a more fulfilling existence.
